NPS and OKPC offer the ¡ºThird Training Course on Public Pension in Asia/Pacific¡» Part ±¹Á¦Çù·ÂºÎ Date 2016/09/07 Hits 376

¡°The 3rd Training Course on Public Pension in Asia/Pacific¡± was held in the International Conference Room of the National Pension Service (NPS) from May 30 to June 3, 2016. The training course was co-hosted by the NPS, the OECD/Korea Policy Center (OKPC), the UN ESCAP, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

 

Marking third year since holding the first program in 2014, the course aims to help participants to introduce, enhance, and expand their respective countries¡¯ pension schemes by sharing the NPS¡¯ experience in operating the Korean National Pension and concluding Social Security Agreements.

 

The five-day training course began with lectures on ¡°Public Pension Schemes of the OECD Members¡± and ¡°Lessons from Pension Reforms in the Asia Pacific Countries¡± by experts from the OECD and the UN ESCAP, respectively, and the program was composed of lectures on Qualification, Coverage and Collection, Benefits, IT, Fund Management, and Retirement Planning Service. Twenty participants who are government officials, policy-decision makers, and pension professionals from 12 countries in Asia Pacific (Nepal, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Iran, Indonesia, China, Cambodia, Thailand) took part in the course.

 

Chairman and CEO Dr. Moon Hyung Pyo said at the Closing Ceremony: ¡°I hope that our experience over the last 29 years can contribute to the development of your pension system, and that this training program can lead us to exchange updated information and to strengthen our mutual collaboration.¡±
