The National Pension Service (NPS) is a public pension fund authorised to manage the funds collected under the National Pension Act of Korea (1988). Since its inception, the NPS has become the world’s third largest pension fund with AUM of USD 437 billion as of late 2015.

In order to manage increasing demand for overseas investments, the NPS opened offices in New York, London and Singapore in 2011, 2012 and 2015 respectively. Through a continued drive to boost overseas asset allocation, enhance local market knowledge, and boost investment capacity in the EMEA region, the NPS is actively seeking to add a Senior Associate / Vice President level investment professional to its private equity investment team in London.

Description

The London investment team seeks private equity fund, ‘co-‘ and direct investment opportunities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The position will participate in sourcing, execution and management of investments as part of a global team. Specific responsibilities will include:

-       Market research and analysis;

-       Identification and screening of potential investments in the EMEA region;

-       Conducting preliminary review, assessment, financial analysis and due diligence for fund and direct investments;

-       Lead negotiation of terms and closing documentation;

-       Write due diligence and asset management reports, and preparation of materials in relation to investment activities as may be required from time to time;

-       Monitoring of existing portfolio investments;

-       Networking with peer investors.

Skills

Applicants should ideally possess:

-       4 – 7 years working experience in European private equity investing and/or other relevant fields;

-       An understanding of private equity portfolio management, characteristics of the transactions and corresponding strategies;

-       Extensive knowledge of financial modelling and valuation techniques in a professional capacity;

-       Strong communication skills paired with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a global team.
